A day in the History Jan 28 2006

Today, I was organizing all the old books in my room and suddenly there it was -my personal dairy of 2006. I just went through few pages and it got me back to those days… here I copy the exact text from my dairy entry for Jan 29 2006

Time :7PM

Place: My lovely Room

Hey.. boy .. you from East Godavari.. You should not come from tomorrow. This was the call given to me in the club today. It was totally my mistake and I took a decision to not go there anymore.

Everything that should not happen has happened today. I am entirely out of race from the GATE competition but I am still confident of doing something … yeah I can do it and its never too late ( so let me start the preparation from tomorrow).

I strongly believe that Lord Krishna with the enchanting melodies of heavenly flute, protects me and guides me. Everything happens for a reason. May be it was god who told me not to come to club again…

Woke up early in the morning, spent the entire morning for the hair cutting, wasted entire day except doing 6 emf bits in the afternoon.

Arjun has torn my bed.. that fatso is really a human elelphant. He himself is sitting on the bed. All of a sudden he fell . He acted like he is really hurt but it is again another legendary showcase action.

Gate is approaching like anything. I am trying to throw an application to NTPC and power grid. I should have joined any coaching center but this is not time to cry. Those jelly chocolates are waiting eagerly for me…I am eating too many chocklates these days but not gaining any weight … got to go … someone is calling me .. see ya

This .. how things used to happen on my side…

What have I done in this decade....?

I am just looking back at my foot prints.... so 10 years .... 3653 days.... It has been a journey from a penniless school kid to a software engineer at an MNC... Let me tell you all my story....

2000-2001
Back then I was still at JNV... Life was mostly driven by school and mess bells. My school life is about to close in 3 more months... and Last year with friends for 7 years... and I was still not yet sure about whether to settle in Medicine or Engineering...! I knew everything was gonna be dark outside Navodaya... My teachers were betting on me for Regional topper.. It had largely been reading, reading and reading in the special study hours at MP( multipurpose ) hall. Occasionally (... to be frank ... my eyes always used to look around for her) staring at 10th class students... who used to sit at the backside block. Sometimes I used sit along with 10th class students themselves... Never ever any teacher raised concerns about me sitting there...because they never wanted to disturb me.. I was their hope.. I still remember the day when my principal took a class to 10graders, explaining them how an Ideal student should be like quoting me as an example... I went all the way to (I went all the way to PM palem to get a greeting card for.. thanks Bulli for lending me some money.....
I just got an Idea....! I should write a book on my whole Navodaya eperiencess... oneday.. why one day ... why not now?
I quit... I have a book to wright right now...

Its been a while since I blogged...!

Twitter is set to eat up all the blogging sites...! As far as my opinion is concerned...I prefer tweeting over blogging. I can simply type in what I am doing in less than 140 characters and viola my friends are updated ... I don't have to open a blog site like this and write - edit and fool proof ...
Finally the year end has come and Harsh for the first time ( after I've joined) went on a tour. Ryan is away in Goa. So I have unofficially two weeks of holidays and I've not yet figured out what to do. I need to do lot shopping but don't know where to ... I searched every nook and corner of Megamart (Banshankari) but couldn't find a single shirt of my size. Thats the disadvantage of staying away from the main stream...
I called my Dad today.. He is not coming home for the Makara Sankranthi...Its broken family again...I miss him again...

Since I started taking rest and don't put my brain to work anymore, it is getting degraded day by day. I, of late observed that I am loosing the power to remember things.. especially numbers and nouns which are not logically connected.. If someone asks me wats my mobile number... It aches like hell in the head for a while and then only I can attempt to recollect it...

Getting older huh..! but this is too early... and long way to go.. Lets see how I am gonna handle this...

Hidden delicacies in Bangalore

I have been waiting to put all this information in front of you...
I have seen very remote places where you can get very cheap and tasty - found nowhere else kind of delicacies which everyone needs to know...!
I have never tasted a butter fruit juice - very taste of it makes me run away from it but my friend had seriously suggested me to eat (rather drink) it at this place. It is just Rs15 but I felt I should give him more

View butter fruit milk shake in a larger map

I have one other place where you can get tasty chicken rolls at throw away prices ... check this near Mathikire road at the backside of IISc

Invitation to a geeks wedding

Yesterday my Software Engineer friend from Kolkata sent me an invitation. It goes like this

Hi,

I know,

• You are the pillar of your project/ software company/college. Or

• All the modules need your input to execute properly. Or

• Students will get disappointed without your lecture. Or

• Whole wireless network will come down if you take leave. Or

• All clients will be in problems in case of your absence. Or

• Roads, buildings and dams will collapse if you are not at work.

But, it is my marriage and it is your responsibility to be there.

So, stop all your development, maintenance and bug-fixing works. Plan your trip. My wedding occasion doesn’t contain catch blocks for No Time Exception, Too Busy Exception, Next Week Delivery Exception and other runtime errors.

Please consider this as my personal invite and do grace the occasion. Please find attached the Wedding card for the details.

Thanks & Regards

So funny and so on to the point. I couldn't skip as I have no handler for the exceptions

Journey called life at cross roads

It's been a year since I joined Oracle... You may not believe me If I say... I've completely transformed after joining Oracle. No workouts and no sports. Only physical work I do now is kicking foot ball in the room every time I get frustrated with the things around.
I should not blame Oracle for this... Few things I like about Oracle are
1)Good Managers. Oracle has got really good (fantastic managers if I have to say truth) managers. My manager is even better.
2) Pays you heavy even when you don't do anything and keep on breaking the labels
3) I would have left Oracle with in 6 months if I had had a different team than this.

but one thing is for sure. I don't have future here. I don't belong here. Just looking around for other options...
PHD... ? Its a struggle for another 5 years. I don't think I can bear it any longer
Image Processing?... I'm unable to save a single paisa with what I am getting here. How could I survive if I go for IP jobs which pays me only half of what I get here.

Lets see how the wind blows!

every SBI customer number that is there on the net. Interestingly all
the numbers were ringing but none of them were answered. Dear sir...
Kindly give me the numbers which are being picked up. Thank you very much
regards
RAM

Found interesting.....
It took SBI customer care 6 months to reply back to me on very simple query like this. Yet interesting thing is I haven't got my ATM card yet...

Airtel Broad band is Cool....

I have taken airtel broadband of 256kbps connection. What I observed recently is, in the week ends especially after Xmas my speed is going up to 2Mbps. Believe me....! As my tariff plan is unlimited... I started downloading movies and it takes just 1-hour to get a full length movie(with out any accelerators) ... I called the call center and told them about this and they seemed uninterested. Why are they doing this...? Don't they have sufficient technology to stop this or they want to encourage people to upgrade to higher speeds by experiencing this.…
What ever their intensions.... my computer is getting busier with downloading lots stuff....

Bannergatta National Park Tour

I'd been planning to visit Bangalore Zoo for many days. I read about the new safari kinda of facility and since then waiting for the day I get to see the national park. Last satday I felt bored after watching few crappy movies and I thought I should hang out. I tried locating it in the google maps and fortunately there is one link to the official website of it. I found the site interesting as there are many pics of deers, tigers and elephants and many more. I went through the map of the zoo and found very big dark colored regions tagged with lion safari, tiger safari, bear safari and many more safaries. I thought I should start immediately....
I took the BMTC bus to bannergatta and one other auto to national park from bannergatta to national park. Place was full of people as it was holiday. There are many items on the board like grand safari, tiger safari and many more. I didn't know anything about them so I thought I should get maximum out of the day so I took a ticket for me and my brother for GRAND SAFARI. I went in to the gate where it says one time entry only.. I found a nameplate both in kannada and english which says Grand safari but there were thousands of people waiting in the iron barricades. I joined the everending queve at the back and waited for smore then 1 hour to get my turn. Finally after getting congested for more than hour in that stinking place I got a chance to get into the green color van with opaque glasses ( Noway you could see through the window glasses). Van is fully messed and there are around 20 seats in it.
After being filled up it started moving towards the safaris .... Discovery channel was moving in mind. I was thinking about we going very close to lions and tigers chasing deers and eating them and all that animal planet stuff.
First thing in our list was herbivorous safari... It went through a gate, very big green gate manually operated on the both sides.. It went through it and suddenly there was some sheep kind of animal. Busdriver stopped the vand and shouted in english.. wild sheep. My brother shouted "oh fellow It is just like ordinary sheep and I had seen thousands of them like that". Then there was wild buffelo nothing different from one we have at home. Only good thing to cherish is spotted deers which I have never seen before. Suddenly some other safari jeep got stuck in the mud and blocked the way.. so we had to wait for some more time. My patience is running out .
Then the bus went to bears safari. I thought there would be many kinds of bears but actually one kind and bus driver stopped it close to them. Every body in the van jumped and started calling it in their languages..
Next it went ot Lion parks. Let me explain it in my words. What is safari.... watching animals in the natuaral habitat. This is something like a very big cage into which cans can go in. There are four lions and one lioness.
Then the last one is tiger safari. Only cool thing in the tour. This is quite big and for the first time in my life I say white tiger. The bus went very close to it and it didn't seem bothered. I saw white cubs fighting with each other and tour is done
back to the start...
I didn't meet my expectations but what I suggest is "it is worth watching.. I would pay double for watching the white tiger one othe time...
so
I saw a great bengal white tiger finally...!

Have you lost SBI ATM card? Here is the solution

Recently I lost my SBI ATM card so I called the toll free coustomer care to block it and as usual no reply. As it is necessary to block the card to get one other card. I have spent thousands of hours trying to find the working customer care numbers but in vain. Don't try the numbers and email ids given in SBI homepage.
Her is the number that really works
[curtain raises...]
08026599990
ta da
[applause ]
This number really works and the lady's voice is really sweet...
so
If you lost your SBI ATM card then use this number instead of waiting for the 1800112211 to work

happy to help you
[oh. applause again..]
